Scale Models: Chevron Texaco

Port Pelican LNG Facility USM, Inc. was contracted by ChevronTexaco to build a 1:200 scale model of their Port Pelican LNG facility. The facility will be the first offshore LNG receiving and regasification terminal in the United States. The actual facility will be located 50 miles off the coast of Louisiana. The scale model is 48" W x 96" L and required 1400 man hours to complete. The scale model was fabricated using a combination of plastics and aluminum. The scale model was built using 3D computer models as reference. USM has produced thousands of custom scale models in our 50 years of business. These models range from the Port Pelican model and similar offshore platforms and ships to industrial equipment models. These scale models are used for design evaluation, sales, training, and display.
